Expanded Polystyrene (EPS) foam recycling is available to Kalamazoo residents! Residents can drop off any amount of the accepted materials during the program drop off days. Volunteers will be set up in the parking lot of Mayors' Riverfront Park to help.
SECOND LOCATION!
A second collection site will be available at Kalamazoo Valley Community College's Texas Township Campus (6767 West O Avenue) for the collections in April, July, and October 2023.
RECYCLE ELECTRONICS:
At the Mayors' Riverfront Park drop off site you can bring old unwanted electronic items for recycling too! Most items are recycled for free, but CRT and LCD monitors and TVs will have a $10 processing fee. This is possible through a partnership with Schupan Asset Management,
WHAT EPS FOAM IS ACCEPTED?
+ Foam labeled with a 6 symbol only
+ Food containers must be rinsed, wiped, or cleaned
NOT ACCEPTED:
-Styrofoam or sheeted insulation
-Straws or lids
-Packing peanuts

+Printers and scanners
+Modems and cable boxes
+Mobile devices and tablets
+Other consumer electronics

NOT ACCEPTED:
+Smoke detectors
+Items containing liquid or freon
+Glass, rubber, or paper
